How rent collection works

Tenwise builds the full rent schedule for the tenancy up front, marks each payment off, and files a receipt for every one. When a payment is due or overdue, both you and the tenant get a reminder.

Where the money goes

Your tenant pays rent straight to your bank account on the schedule you set, using the reference Tenwise gives them. Tenwise sends the reminders, matches each payment and files the receipt. It never holds the money. There's no Tenwise-held balance the money passes through, which is why we can promise no percentage of your rent, ever.

Automatic collection, where the rent moves on the due date without your tenant lifting a finger, is coming. It will run over PayTo, with you as the payee, so the money still never passes through Tenwise. Until then you confirm each payment as it lands, or paste your bank statement and Tenwise matches the payments for you.
