Where the TICA / NTD / equivalent checks sit, and why a tenant is never charged for one.
Tenancy-database checks (TICA, NTD and the like) are how you confirm an applicant has no listed history that matters. They're coming to Tenwise; until then, if you want one, run it with the provider directly. When they arrive, a check is passed through at the provider's cost (typically $15 to $30) and only when you choose to run one.
One rule doesn't change: the tenant is never charged for a check. If you ever see a screen suggesting otherwise, that's a bug. Tell us and we'll fix it.
