When rent is late
Reminders go out automatically; the arrears view tells you how far behind things are and what you can lawfully do next.
Tenants get a nudge before rent is due and you get an alert when it's overdue. You don't have to chase by default. When someone does fall behind, the tenancy's rent card shows exactly how many days and dollars, and what stage you're at.
The stages, in NSW
Up to 14 days behind, it's reminder territory: a message often sorts it. Once rent is 14 or more days overdue, a non-payment termination notice becomes lawfully possible; the notice itself must give at least 14 days.
Often the better tool is a payment plan: agree instalments to catch up the arrears, and Tenwise tracks them against the ledger. A tenant who catches up keeps the tenancy and you keep the income, usually the best outcome on both sides.
